This one-hour workshop will provide an opportunity for staff to learn about the following topics pertinent to providing diversity competent care to transgender patients/clients/residents:

  • Transgender identities, concepts, history and issues
  • Training in the usage of respectful language, preferred names/pronouns
  • Concrete tools for creating safer spaces for gender diverse clients and reducing barriers to accessing services
  • An opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues specific to your practice
