Pacific Blue Cross is currently experiencing a labour disruption as they work towards a new collective agreement with their union employees. Unfortunately, they have not been able to come to an agreement and they have been experiencing rotating service disruptions since May. On July 6, a full work stoppage came into effect.

During this disruption, CARESnet web portal may be an option for you for claims submission, as well as Pacific Blue Cross’s mobile app. As a best practice, we also recommend keeping copies of your submissions and receipts through this period of disruption.

During the strike, the Pacific Blue Cross Member Service call centre will not be operational. We have been advised that many questions can be answered on CARESnet.

Please note that People Information and Benefits will continue to send enrolment through during this time. However, due to the strike at Pacific Blue Cross, we anticipate that enrollment and/or changes to your coverage will be delayed.

For additional information, we suggest following the Member Service Updates and submit eligible claims online through CARESnet.

We are concerned about this disruption, and hope that this can be resolved in short order.
