On June 19, 2017, Biomedical Engineering changed the way service is requested across Fraser Health. Service will now be requested using two distinct paths.

The way you request service from Biomedical Engineering has changed. There are now two ways to request service - web requests for non-urgent requests and site specific phone numbers for urgent (STAT) requests.

As of June 19, the 604-953-5193 number is no longer the way to request Biomedical Engineering service.

Why?

This improves our response to urgent service requests by reaching a technologist directly during normal operational hours (may vary from site to site). Outside of normal hours the site specific phone number will be answered by the IT call center and forwarded to a biomedical technologist (no change from current practice).

Non-urgent web service requests are directly entered into the Biomedical Engineering service database. This allows Biomedical Engineering to track these requests from the time they are requested to completion.

When?

June 19, 2017, urgent service requests.

Ongoing availability; non-urgent requests using our Web Biomedical Engineering Service Request portal portal has been available for some time and will continue. Submit Online BME Service Request.

What are the impacts of the changes?

Non-urgent requests can be submitted using the Icon below. It is located on the FH Pulse main page under quick links.

  • Please remove all documentation, referring to phone number 604-953-5193, to eliminate confusion and delay of service.
  • Download a list of site specific urgent service numbers. You should already have received your specific site phone number as well (dropped off by a Biomedical Engineering team member).
  • All Medical Imaging urgent service requests go to a single phone number, 604-788-0435 for all Fraser Health sites.
