The 2017 Above and Beyond Awards honoured 10 individuals and teams in five awards categories at a very special awards ceremony on September 28. Do you know one of the award recipients?
We work with wonderful people. Everyday, our colleagues go above and beyond their daily duties to enhance the care and services we provide.
Earlier today, our 2017 Above and Beyond Awards honoured 10 of these colleagues and teams in five awards categories at a very special ceremony.
The Above and Beyond Awards are designed to recognize Fraser Health employees, teams, physicians and volunteers who go beyond the call of duty to achieve extraordinary results in everything from patient care to health care innovation.
“These extraordinary people provide outstanding care to patients, and exceptional service to our programs and communities,” said Michael Marchbank, Fraser Health President and Chief Executive Officer. “These are the individuals and teams of employees, physicians and volunteers, who exceed our expectations and motivate us to excel, too.”
Among this year’s winners:
- A harm reduction coordinator who has saved seven people from overdose and trained thousands more in overdose prevention and compassion.
- A multi-agency team that tackled the tricky problem of managing ER wait times and achieved success by helping non-acute patients access appropriate care, faster.
- A clinical pharmacy specialist dedicated to helping pregnant and breastfeeding moms get the medication safety advice they need to treat their conditions without worry.
These are just a few of the dedicated people celebrated in this year’s Above and Beyond Awards. Visit news.fraserhealth.ca to view the full list of recipients and to read their inspiring stories and watch videos detailing their efforts.
