This week’s kudos go to our amazing employees at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Ridge Meadows Hospital, Burnaby Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital.

For Abbotsford Regional Hospital

My family would like to thank the doctor, nurses, anyone who contributed to my brother’s care during his many stays over the last years of his life. Unfortunately, today we lost our brother. Thank you for everything ICU, Baker 3, Emergency and any other units I may have missed

For Ridge Meadows Hospital

This April I had knee replacement, which I was told was one of the more painful surgeries.

Dr. Chancey, who is an outstanding surgeon, did the surgery. She was supportive through the whole process. She is the most caring doctor that I have ever had.

The care at Maple Ridge hospital was outstanding and the student nurses were amazing. I am proud to say I live in a community with such a great hospital.

The Physiotherapy Department was fantastic. Danika and her team were encouraging and supported me through the whole process. I have told everyone who asks me how it went, that it was difficult but with the support, which I had, I would recommend Maple Ridge Hospital to anyone.

Thank-you for making my experience at the hospital a positive one. I hope that Dr.Chancey, Danika, and the Physiotherapy Department would be encouraged by you all.

For Burnaby Hospital

I want to appreciate all nurses, doctor and volunteers who helped my son today. We came to the emergency around 12:30pm. The volunteer gave us a warm greeting and a clear direction. Then the nurse at triage helped my son really patiently and professionally…Thanks to all staff, his sickness is finally under control. I only remember one of nurses’ name, Philippa, she is amazing. She really made my son calm down and relax during his treatment. We didn’t wait too long! Thanks again! Please say my thanks to them! Especially the nurses at Triage and nurse Philippa!

For Surrey Memorial Hospital

I would like to deeply express myself, my family and my beloved deceased sister who had received great caring services from the staff in the Palliative Complex Care Unit at Surrey Memorial Hospital while having to battle with cancer.  I would like to especially thank Anthony who had tons of patience and kindness while doing your job diligently. Also a special thank you to Heather, Kelly, Jessica, Megan, Melissa, Stephanie, and Mandy for your hard work and great services. I found we are so lucky to be Canadian and have such wonderful people doing their health care job with passion, kindness and unconditional love.

Many thanks to Maren, on 3 West! You went out of your way to secure a lab requisition for my daughter. She was a recent patient and didn't understand that upon discharge, she would need to get the requisition from her GP.

I am writing this letter to inform you of my recent hospitalization on your ward. During that time, I received excellent care from the Internal Medicine doctors, the Nephrologists and the nursing staff. I am a retired nurse of 30 years. I was in a 4 bed room (43C). My doctors were all knowledgeable, professional and kept me up to date daily on my condition and progress. They answered all my questions every day. The nurses were also knowledgeable, professional and caring towards me. The auxiliary staff were friendly and helpful. The lab techs were excellent and compassionate. I was seen by the dietician numerous times and they made adjustments to my meals as I had nausea and vomiting. A pharmacist saw me on the day of discharge and reviewed all my meds with me and answered all my questions.

I’ve been in many hospitals settings during the course of my career and I’d like you to know that I think Surrey Memorial Hospital is right at the top of a five star facility. I was assessed, treated and began my recovery under its watchful eye. I was not discharged until the medical staff felt my condition was stable enough.

I would like to thank you for the excellent care I received and to say “keep up the good work”. I was also observant that all the patients on the ward received the same, high quality standard of care. Thank you and all of your staff very much.

Commendation to the following 4 nurses - Jena, Bavan, Jermaine, and Victoria! You did an amazing job taking care of my mother. It has been a stressful and emotional rollercoaster. I am happy that such caring individuals are part of Fraser Health staff. I hope that all nurses are as compassionate and caring as I witnessed in this ward. You made me feel that you cared for her like your own family member. Due to work constraints, I was unable to be with her a lot of the time but knowing such amazing people were taking care of her made me feel a little bit better. Keep up the great work!

I had the chance to visit my aunt at the Surrey Memorial Hospital yesterday.  I did the parking thing all wrong and left the ticket on my dash.  When I was ready to leave, I went to the primary parking and NO CAR… Chamandeep was just getting off duty.  He could see I was getting quite distraught and offered to help me look for the car… Without his help I would probably still be looking for my car!! I want you to know you have a very caring employee and I shall always be grateful to him
