Reminder to casual employees under Nurses, Facilities and Community Collective Agreements to ensure they pick up and work the minimum required casual hours

Per the collective agreement language, six month notification letters will be sent on July 31, 2018 to all casual employees covered by the Facilities Collective Agreement (FBA), Community Collective Agreement (CBA) and Nurses Provincial Collective Agreement (NBA) who have not yet worked half the minimum required hours in the year. The six month letter is a notification letter and not a termination letter. All casuals will receive this letter if they have not worked at least half the minimum required hours to date in 2018.

Collective agreement language under the Nurses Provincial Collective Agreement requires all casual employees in Fraser Health to work a minimum of 400 hours in the 2018 calendar year to maintain casual status.

For casual employees under the Facilities and Community collective agreements, they will continue to be required to work a minimum of 225 hours in the 2018 calendar year.

Please contact your manager if you would like to update your casual availability, resign from your position or to discuss your bona fide reason for not accepting casual shifts.
