Nominations for the 2018 B.C. Health Care Awards are being accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, March 16.

The B.C. Health Care Awards celebrate achievements in B.C.’s health care community and recognize the people behind those successes.

Award categories celebrate innovative health models, workplace health initiatives, collaborative problem-solving and outstanding individual achievements.

Since the awards were launched 11 years ago, 214 Fraser Health employees have been nominated and 23 have taken home an award.

Last year’s Fraser Health winners included Misty Stephens, Enterostomal Therapist at Peace Arch Hospital, who received a Health Care Hero Award for her work launching an outpatient ostomy clinic. Other Fraser Health awardees included the Ceiling Lift Program Team from Royal Columbian Hospital who received a Top Innovation Award of Merit for their work in organizing their own ceiling lift maintenance shop.
