It’s time to stay healthy, roll up your sleeve and support our Influenza policy. Workplace Influenza Immunization Clinics are now being offered across Fraser Health.

This flu season, you can support our flu policy with two simple steps. Stay healthy and:

  1. Vaccinate or mask and
  2. Report your decision online.

Stay healthy and put vaccination in your calendar

Attending a workplace influenza immunization clinic is one of the easiest ways to protect yourself, your family, and our patients, clients and residents from influenza.

Influenza can be a serious illness for vulnerable people, including infants and young children, pregnant women, seniors and people with chronic health conditions. It’s important that we help protect them.

Please have a look at the complete list of workplace influenza immunization clinics on our FH Pulse flu page. Find one near you and put it in your calendar today. Please bring your Care Card and employee ID with you.

You can also get your free flu shot from a peer immunizer or right in your community from your family doctor, pharmacist, or walk-in clinic. Check ImmunizeBC’s Influenza Clinic Locator for a clinic near you.

B.C.’s Influenza Prevention Policy requires all health care workers and visitors to either vaccinate or to wear a mask in patient care areas from Dec. 3 until March 31, 2019.

If you cannot vaccinate, masks will be available on units for staff and visitors as of Dec. 3. Learn how to wear one properly in this video.

Stay healthy and report your decision online

No matter which method you choose, you must report your decision by Dec. 3.

If you are an employee, report online here: Influenzareporting.org.

If you are a physician or medical staff, report online here: Medicalstaffhealth.phsa.ca.

We ask that you report your decision – to get immunized or wear a mask – online the same day you receive it or as soon as possible. Reporting only takes a minute and you can do it on your smart phone or computer.

Visit our Fraser Health influenza page and FH Pulse influenza page for more information or email your questions to influenzaquestions@fraserhealth.ca.
